Our client are a leading, research-driven Medical Devices company with a broad range of products in the Surgical Instruments market. Our client have a new opportunity to work as a Product Manager, responsible for driving the company’s range of Surgical products and ensure that the products support the company’s overall strategies, goals and targets, alongside the Clinical Training Manager and Managing Director. This role will be home based working on a national basis, and will attend head office in Essex when required.

Essential Requirements
You will have a marketing or sales background, ideally gained working with Surgical Instruments.
Strong working knowledge of surgical products/consumables and commercial market.
Detailed product and surgical application knowledge.
An understanding of product quality management and product manufacturing control.
Ability to communicate effectively with all appropriate internal departments, such as Quality Assurance, Purchasing, Excellent communication through written or verbal mediums.
Be able to identify and network, develop and maintain key relationships.
Current driving licence with no more than 6 points.

Role Responsibilities
Implement strategies and plans as discussed with the Managing Director and key Department Managers.
Set-up and continuously manage pricing and part numbers via the workbook.
Manage General Surgical demonstration stock instruments and products.
Instigate and drive third-party product launches.
Work with the Purchasing Department to set minimum stock levels for General Surgical consumables.
Plan, organise and implement both existing and new products into the market to meet or exceed sales commitments as governed by the company.
Act as point of first reference for product-related enquiries from internal and external customers.
Disseminate relevant information from the product range to staff.
In relation to the product range, communicate the needs of the marketplace to the Managing Director.
Liaise with and assist the National Sales Manager and Managing Director in the development of future sales plans and sales budgets
Assist the Sales and Marketing Departments in developing core positioning and messaging (features and benefits, USPs) for each product to be utilised
Secure, build and nurture positive long-term relations with customers to secure short, medium and long-term business
Where appropriate, assist in supporting relevant product demonstrations
Assist with completion of Tenders and Frameworks for the General Surgical product range
Identify potential product opportunities (both new and the development of existing products), using outside manufacturers and suppliers, and make proposals to the Managing Director.
Drive innovative product design and development, work closely with the Quality Production Engineer
Design market research projects to assess customer’s attitudes towards an existing product range or potential new product introductions
Inspect current market conditions and trends to prepare a successful platform for any new product developments or existing product enhancements
