We are currently recruiting for a market leading Pharmaceutical organisation with an exciting new opportunity working as a Key Account Manager within the Ophthalmology market. This exciting role will be working across the Hampshire, Surrey, Sussex & Kent territory. In this role, you will be responsible for territory sales within a defined geography, by working across both Primary & Secondary Care stakeholders.

Essential Requirements:
You will have several years experience working both Hospitals and CCGs. The Key output is to ensure access to the client’s usage, usually by placing the product on a joint Primary & Secondary care is essential.
Possessing many established relationships within CCG medicine management is a real advantage.
You will possess ABPI.
You will have a track record that demonstrates a can-do and commercial ability. Ideally, examples of how you built sales within a territory at a greater rate than the market average. Examples of motivating and mobilising KOLS to push drug access against the usual obstacles faced.
Experience in working in Ophthalmology would be an advantage but is not essential.
Previous Experience working in a small, dynamic environment. The client is a small organisation with high ambitions. Successful Key Account Managers will be comfortable to be highly visible, be able to deal without some of the support of larger Pharma companies, and have a passion for the extra responsibilities that a smaller organisation provides.

Role Responsibilities:
You will be required to update and refresh plans on a regular basis and be able to present progress monthly. The stated aim will be to ensure both Secondary and Primary Care clinicians have full access to our client’s full range of products, and to defend their inclusion and positioning against competitor activities.
Ability to access and influence key stakeholders both in Primary and Secondary Care.
To plan and implement to company expected standards for activity and coverage objectives.
Completion of company monitoring and business tracking systems on a weekly and monthly basis to ensure all customer records, call histories and contact information are up to date.
The ability to prioritise and plan your activity across several potential hospitals and CCGs within the defined geography. It is important that the job holder can develop their own robust methods of prioritising their key target accounts by utilising the information the company provides and your own research.
To plan, monitor and work within defined promotional budgets and to set company targets and sales objectives. To utilise budget in areas that will generate maximum return for the money invested.
Competent in the usage of value and economic arguments and tools that will support the promotion of the company’s products, with all customer groups, including Ophthalmologists, hospital based Pharmacy staff, and interface & CCG Medicine Management professionals.
To seek commercial opportunities as they arise, potentially out of the key targeted sites (Hospitals & CCGs).
To present a case to line management to pursue new opportunities. To be flexible and work new customer groups as required by the business needs of the company.

Role Specific Competencies:
You will possess a can-do attitude, and drive to succeed that is vital in any commercial role. The job holder will have a desire and passion not only to meet, but exceed their objectives. They will set their standards at a high level, and realistically assess their progress to these standards and consistently look for improvements.
You will have the ability to prioritise work across a large geographic area, encompassing a significant number of Hospitals and CCGS. Success will encompass the ability to balance the needs of short term and longer term sales targets and objectives. Planning is essential. It is the ability to set clear objectives, and to identify and map out the formal and informal network by which decisions within the account are taken and to develop a plan to influence.
You must have the ability to quickly form meaningful relationships with customers.
You will be able to understand both the client’s and the customer’s needs, and to position the client’s products and services as a potential solution. It is about building and maintaining a mutual business relation with a customer.
It is vital that you are able to gain an understanding of the client’s customers. Success will combine both the utilising of company provided data (sales etc.), but also your own research and insights.
