We are looking for an experienced nurse with relevant clinical skill and who has the passion, drive and commitment to develop and deliver specialist bladder and bowel services at the National Spinal Injuries Centre Stoke Mandeville

The Role:

Provide specialist bladder and bowel service nursing service in the National Spinal Injuries Centre Stoke Mandeville and the community area

Provide expert clinical and psychological support to patients/carers with bladder and bowel problems following Spinal Cord Injury

Support, develop and promote the availability of the service to maximise appropriate professional and patient referral

Promote the Charter Healthcare Service and CARE to all patients using home delivery service

Deliver Professional and Ethical care to patients

Effectively and efficiently plan, manage and organise caseload and time

Provide inpatient and outpatient support for patients

Communicate effectively and provide feedback to patients / carers and referring Healthcare professional

Maintain clinical records in accordance with Company, Legal and Professional requirements

Instigate working practices to ensure collaborative working between different stakeholders e.g. acute and community health care teams

Generate and maintain effective working relationships with health care professionals across the Region

Deliver educational support to fellow health care professionals

Undertake service audit/evaluation activities

We are looking for a nurse to join this very experienced NHS team. The nurse needs to be able to work as an independent practitioner, be self-motivated and have a winning mindset. They need to be a strategic thinker who wants to build on their commercial awareness and skill and who has the confidence and courage to challenge.

Registered General Nurse for a minimum of 5 years

Professional portfolio: in accordance with National regulatory requirements

Minimum of Nursing Degree qualification

Person/Experience Required

Experience of working within Bladder and Bowel speciality

Teaching experience

IT proficiency

Expert clinician

Sound interpersonal and relationship building skills

Experience of negotiating at a senior clinical level

Independent Practitioner: self-motivated and driven around planning and caseload management

Communication: collaborative working with NHS partners supporting patient outcomes
