Our client is a global, Pharmaceutical organisation, who have a unique opportunity to join an already established team. The role will be working as a Medical Affairs Manager in Ireland. Our client is looking for dynamic and self-motivated individuals who have the desire to develop a long-term career within their business. The Medical Affairs Manager is responsible for leading a team of MSLs, the establishment and building of strong working relationships with Irish Key Opinion Leaders, facilitating a mutually beneficial two-way exchange on the products, disease area and wider specialist medical arena within which the company operates.

Requirements:
A PhD is strongly preferred; however, a degree must be gained in one or more of the following disciplines: Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy or the Pharmaceutical/Life Sciences.
Experience of working in a similar field-based role, clinical research or other similar role where you have strong evidence of leading Healthcare professional interactions.
Strong commercial acumen, facilitating the strategic alignment of company goals and achievement of target with KOL activities, ensuring that KOL/OL interactions are approached in a manner and direction which enables the overall company objectives.
Ability to perform effortlessly as a member of the senior management team of a small affiliate with a can-do attitude and a strong sense of leadership and presence displayed always.
Full driving licence.
Must have proven experience of presenting complex scientific information to HCPs at varying levels including Thought Leaders.
Ability to quickly and comprehensively learn about new therapy areas and environments.
Knowledge of the Irish Healthcare System and the Pharmaceutical industry.

Role Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for recruiting, leading and developing a team of MSLs.
Have knowledge of products, patient treatment trends, clinical trials and scientific activities within the Disease Area and be expected to continuously update this expertise and knowledge.
Support Management in the training of Sales Professionals by providing in depth medical and scientific disease area and product knowledge.
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Key Opinion Leaders, in accordance with the strategy developed by the Company to gain insight into treatment patterns, the scientific activities taking place within the disease area and the needs of Healthcare providers in the disease area.
Ensure appropriate responses with accurate scientific data to unsolicited scientific questions from Physicians for Products/Brands are provided.
Deliver clinical data in the support of health economic/value proposition discussions with Payers e.g. advanced budgetary notification.
Communicate Key Opinion Leader insights about the disease area, unmet medical needs and treatment patterns.
Advise the Brand Team in the development of scientifically meaningful educational programs such as Continuous Medical Educational Programs and Symposia.
Develop and execute the Medical part of the Brand Plan and provide input into full Brand Plan.
Ensure 24/7 coverage for pharmacovigilance reporting.
Review of scientific literature for ADRs on national products, review of local scientific literature for all products.
Contribution to the company’s benefit-risk evaluation for national products.
In collaboration with Medical Director is responsible for medical approval of all advertising material developed by other DSIE staff together.
Advertising of medicinal products carried out conforms with the requirements of statutory instrument S.I No.541 of 2007 Medicinal Products (Control of Advertising) Regulations 2007.
Good knowledge of the requirements of statutory instrument S.I No.541 of 2007 Medicinal Products (Control of Advertising) Regulations 2007.
