Working in the Pharmaceutical industry as a Professional Relations Manager - Respiratory, you will be responsible for the management and development of Key External Experts (KEE) and their attendance at appropriate events. This is a strategic marketing role, required to work on both the post and pre-launch phase of a products life cycle.

Accountabilities include:

Management and Development of Key External Experts (KEE) for Therapy Area

Contact Point for KEEs

Responsible for their engagement, including facilitation of the activities that the KEE is involved in (excluding ISS/ESR and clinical studies)

Responsible for ensuring the KEE is briefed effectively, has sufficient information and expertise to enable them to discuss brands in the context of the disease area as part of meetings or promotional activities

Appropriate referral to an MSL or member of the Medical Affairs team for scientific exchange

Liaison with account teams to develop regional plans and activities that include KEE mobilisation based on local account need

Meetings Project Management

Work to established guidelines and processes regarding meetings management

Organise National and International Congress for the relevant therapy area

In partnership with Medical Affairs develop medical educational meetings programmes nationally and regionally.

Advise on the logistics of a Medical stand, working in partnership with Medical


Work to established guidelines regarding compliance and adherence to the ABPI code specifically:-

Non participation in off-label scientific data discussions

No discussions with KEEs regarding ISS/ESR planning

No discussions regarding clinical study participation

As a Professional Relations Manager in the Respiratory Business Unit, you will play a pivotal role in channelling scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients’ lives.

The role is accompanied by an excellent package which includes a negotiable basic salary based on experience, pension, healthcare, bonus scheme and company car scheme.



Educated to degree level or equivalent

Full driving licence

ABPI qualification

Person/Experience Required


Secondary care sales experience with a sound knowledge of key account management with in a speciality care environment

Proven track record of sales & business management success in speciality secondary care

Ability to understand and interpret complex clinical and health economic data effectively in customer interactions.

Proven track record in influencing KEE's

Excellent business acumen, demonstrating good analytical, planning and organisational skills

Self-starter and effective problem solver- responsible for own actions and results

Strong communication and team working


Experience and success working as a Professional Relations Manager

Current knowledge and experience of designated customer group

Experience of influencing successfully in a complex organisation

A flexible approach in being able to adapt as the brands develop in the market place
