Our client is a global, marketing leading Pharmaceutical organisation, who have an exceptional opportunity to join an already established team in OTC. The role will be working as the Head of Trade, Category & Shopper Strategy, the role will be based at the company’s Head Office in Essex. Our client is looking for strategic and self-motivated individuals with strong leadership skills. You will be responsible for the development of the trade, category & shopper marketing strategy to enable the business to achieve its 5-year plans.

Ideal Candidate Background:
Educated to degree level (Business or Marketing related) or equivalent with a minimum 2:1 classification.
Proven experience in leading a category or trade marketing role team ideally in an OTC/FMCG/Consumer Healthcare environment.
At least 10 years’ experience in commercial roles preferably in OTC/Consumer Health Care/FMCG or Healthcare related industry.
Proven track record of leading the implementation of effective trade & category strategy with high level of knowledge of UK retail and national customers.
Experience in management of financial reports, budgets and forecasting requirements.
Ideally you will be a Sales Controller or Sales Manager ready for progression to senior sales role.
Knowledge in all elements of the marketing mix, including advertising & market research.

Main Accountabilities:
Creating, developing & implementing trade & category strategy in collaboration with the UK sales and marketing heads.
Design, develop, and implementation of annual trade & category plans to accelerate growth across the brand portfolio in line with the approved 5-year business plan and brand strategy.
Execute category management projects to optimise a large portfolio of retail brands and developing strategies to optimise the range and related merchandising.
Support sales team in retail pricing strategy and execution of retail price increases in line with 5-year plan.
Develop & execute in-store promotional strategy and provide ROI analysis to measure success and generate learnings.
Create, execute & roll out best in class POS materials to ensure shopper activation delivers clear objectives.
Estimating promotional uplifts in conjunction with sales and marketing.
Developing strong working relationships with buying, category & marketing and merchandising teams in key retailers.
